NOTE : all prices are in AUD Executive Summary I tried to make a booking for $15,401.30 on Destination Holidays They authorised the transaction with my bank They failed the booking They denied that the booking existed. When the bank transaction finally went thru they reversed it minus $561.02, because they think I should pay for their mistake. So I bought something from them, they failed to deliver & then don't return all my money. NOTE : At no time did I ask dh  to cancel a booking !   Tuesday 7th Feb 2023 Using skyscanner.com I found the flights I wanted for  $15,401.38 on destinaholidays.com (dh) I proceeded to book the flights. Completed the forms Entered Bank Details Authorised the Credit Card transaction for $15,401.38 At this stage dh  rejected the booking as the fare was no longer available, and offered me a similar flight plan at about $24,000 I did not accept the "slight increase" as I knew there were better fares available. Attempting to tell destina that they have taken my money

NOTE : this has been (badly) edited to remove my contact details :-) The last comment from them saying "there is a transaction" they later cleared up as a typo ... they did not find it ! The beauty of this is that I tell them there is an authorisation at the right time for the right amount from them and also I show them the error from their own system that could account for it. They continue to deny that the transaction exists. I really love the bit where they say  "If the booking was not complete then there to charge on your card from our end you will need to contact your bank to resolve the issue." I'm not really sure .. I wish they would type better but I think this is saying it's all your banks fault .. we didn't do it. ( BTW I did contact my bank ... They can not reverse "authorisations"  .. nor should they be able to as there would not be enough time t...

NOTE : this has been (badly) edited to remove my contact details :-) This starts with them still denying the transaction exists, and then finding it (surprise my bank did not just make it up). They try to sell me another ticket, I explain that they are more expensive than expedia & I want my money back. They also say "Thank you for booking with us. There has been a refund processing fee as per our terms and conditions outlined in your original email confirmation, and the balance amount will appear on your credit card statement within 3-5 business days." OK 2 things ... The money took 5 days to be returned I NEVER GOT AN EMAIL CONFIRMATION .... NO BOOKING WAS MADE So they returned $14,840.36 out of $15,401.38 'cos the exchange rate has changed they charge me some fee BECAUSE OF PROBLEMS WITH THIER OWN SYSTEM I think that Destina probably should not have put thru the initial AUTH ...
